Does Texas Have State Income Tax?

I’ve seen people asking does Texas have state income tax, and from what I understand, Texas is one of the states that does not charge personal state income tax. Residents still pay federal income taxes and other types of taxes like sales or property tax. Can anyone confirm if there are any exceptions or additional taxes people should know about?

Texas does not have state income tax, which means you won't pay state income tax on your earnings. However, you may still be required to pay other state taxes, such as sales tax or franchise tax. Consult the Texas Comptroller's website or a tax professional for more information.

You’re right, Texas doesn’t have a personal state income tax. People still pay federal tax though, and things like property taxes and sales taxes can be a bit higher, so that’s kind of how the state makes up for it.
