I’m looking into tools to track software compliance and came across the doge software licenses audit hud?. Has anyone tested it and is it useful

I haven't personally used the DOGE Software Licenses Audit HUD, which is why what is publicly available does not make it seem widely used or reviewed yet, making it unknown whether it can actually be useful in the real world.

The "Doge Software Licenses Audit HUD" exists as a government program which the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uses to fight waste according to public records. The system operates as a non-commercial software solution which agencies including the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) use for software license auditing through their Heads-Up Display (HUD) dashboard.

The “Doge Software Licenses Audit HUD” refers to a real-time, dashboard-style system used to track and audit software licenses—originally highlighted in an audit of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It helps organizations monitor license use, detect unused or non-compliant software, and optimize costs, offering visibility and compliance tracking rather than being a traditional manual audit. It’s become notable for revealing huge discrepancies in license usage inside large systems like HUD.

According to the users, this audit HUD assists in tracking, verifying and managing software licenses in a centralized dashboard, which identifies compliance violations and usage trends effectively.
