Anyone from UIUC who can explain how the uiuc degree audit works? Does it show missing requirements clearly and update in real time?

UIUC Degree Audit (DARS) retrieves your course history and current enrollments to indicate the courses completed and those still needed in each category. It is usually obvious what is missing and will update automatically once there are changes in registration but final grades can take a little time to respond.

The DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) system evaluates your academic performance through your completed courses and all your transferred credits. The assessment will verify your program requirements (General Education, major, credits) for your particular catalog year by displaying both completed and outstanding requirements.

The UIUC Degree Audit System lets students track their progress toward graduation by showing which requirements they’ve completed, what’s in progress, and what’s still needed. You log in with your NetID through the university’s student portal, run or request an audit, and the system breaks down your coursework by categories like general education, major, and electives so you can plan future classes. It’s a helpful planning tool, but you should still double-check with your academic advisor for official guidance.

The UIUC degree audit system will compare your coursework completed with program requirements and indicate credits obtained, classes to attend and show your progress towards graduation.
