How much is capital gains tax?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand capital gains tax and how much it usually is. Can someone explain the rates and what factors affect how much tax I would owe on investments or property sales?

Capital gains tax depends on how long you held the asset and your income. In the U.S., short-term gains (held less than a year) are taxed like regular income, while long-term gains (over a year) are usually 0%, 15%, or 20% depending on your tax bracket.
