Is llc a corporation?

Hi everyone, I’m a bit confused about business structures — is an LLC considered a corporation? How are they different when it comes to ownership, taxes, and legal liability?

No, a limited liability company, or LLC, is not the same as a corporation. This hybrid business structure is distinct.

By combining the pass-through taxation of a partnership or sole proprietorship with the limited liability of a corporation (which protects personal assets), an LLC typically avoids "double taxation." The management requirements and formalities are more stringent for corporations.
