I keep hearing people talk about “1099s” during tax season, but I’m not totally sure what they actually are. From what I understand, they’re related to income that isn’t from a regular job, but I’m still a bit confused. Can someone explain in simple terms what a 1099 tax form is and who’s supposed to get one? Also, how does it affect your taxes compared to a normal W-2?
