Hi everyone, I’ve been hearing the term “Chartered Professional Accountant” or CPA quite often. Can someone explain what exactly a Chartered Professional Accountant does and how it differs from a regular accountant?

A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is a certified financial expert who provides accounting, auditing, tax, and financial advisory services. CPAs uphold strict professional standards, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance in financial reporting for businesses and individuals.

A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is a recognized accountant who is compelled to meet a certain degree of education, examination and experience requirements. They do not only do simple bookkeeping, but advanced financial work such as auditing, tax planning, and business strategy.

A Chartered Professional Accountant, or CPA, is basically an accountant with extra certification. They handle things like taxes, audits, and financial planning, but they’ve also met specific education and experience requirements. Compared to a regular accountant, a CPA can take on more complex tasks and is officially recognized for their expertise.
