I recently came across stories involving mail fraud but don’t fully understand it. Does it only apply to postal services, or do private courier services qualify too? Any clarification would be appreciated.

In simple words, mail fraud is the act of deceiving someone through the use of the postal system in order to obtain money or gain of a personal nature. Most of the time, it involves the sending of lies, the creation of fake offers, and the forgery of documents that are intended to mislead the recipients in order to deceive them.
