What state has the cheapest sales tax?

I’m looking into cost-of-living differences across states and was curious—which state has the cheapest or lowest sales tax in the U.S.? Are there any states with no sales tax at all? Also, how much does it impact day-to-day expenses? Appreciate any insights or recent data!

Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon are the states with no statewide sales tax. However, among those with sales tax, Wyoming has the lowest average rate, at 4%. States like Alaska also have no statewide sales tax, but some local areas may impose one. Always check local tax rates.

Five states currently have no statewide sales tax: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon. However, some of these may have local sales taxes.
