Hi all, I’m looking for recommendations on the best accounting software for personal use. I need something simple to track income, expenses, and maybe generate basic reports. Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated

Popular accounting software for personal use includes Mint, Quicken, YNAB, and Wave. These tools help track expenses, manage budgets, monitor savings, and organize finances efficiently for better money management at home.

1. GnuCash
The free, open-source software that is appropriate in terms of personal and small-business financial accountants. It can be used on Windows, macos and Linux and it facilitates double-entry bookkeeping.

2. Money Manager Ex
A simple open-source workbook tracking costs and managing finances as well as creating simple reports. It is best suited to those users that require offline access and total control of their data.

3. HomeBank
A free individual money program that helps with individual accountancy, budgeting and finances. Windows, macOS and Linux versions available.

The best personal accounting software is Quicken with its extensive functionalities for individual and small business finance; the YNAB (You Need a Budget) which is perfect for zero-based budgeting and financial management; and Moneydance, which is a great choice for investors and for those who want to keep their data offline.
