How Do I Know My Tax Bracket?

I’m trying to figure out my tax bracket for this year, but I’m a bit confused about how it’s calculated. Can someone explain how I can determine my tax bracket based on my income and filing status? Any tips or tools to make this easier would be really helpful.

To find your tax bracket:
  1. Look at your taxable income (after deductions).
  2. Check the IRS tax brackets for your filing status (single, married, etc.).
Only parts of your income get taxed at each rate—it’s a step-by-step system, not one flat rate. You can also use an online tax calculator to make it easy.

Your tax bracket depends on your taxable income and filing status. Check the IRS tax tables annually, as income ranges and rates change each year.

22%$47,151–$100,525$94,301–$201,050
24%$100,526–$191,950$201,051–$383,900
32%$191,951–$243,725$383,901–$487,450
35%$243,726–$609,350$487,451–$731,200
37%Over $609,350Over $731,200

The amount of taxable income that you earn and the status you file determines your tax bracket; either single, married, and so on. The U.S. is a progressive tax system and thus, only the amount of your income that fits into each bracket is taxed at that tax rate.
