If someone suspects misuse of food stamps or EBT benefits, how to report food stamp? Is it anonymous, and does someone need solid proof first?

For the case of food stamp (SNAP) fraud, it is advisable to reach out to your state's social services or SNAP agency through their online forms, hotlines, or mail directly, or you can report it to the USDA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for federal oversight, giving detailed information such as names, addresses, and descriptions of the activity to facilitate the investigation, but keep in mind that anonymous reporting is permitted in most states.

You can report food stamp fraud by contacting your state’s SNAP fraud hotline, submitting an online complaint on the state SNAP website, or calling the USDA Office of Inspector General. Provide details like names, location, and activity to help investigators take action.

You may report SNAP fraud in your state in the hotline or in the USDA Office of Inspector General, where you provide details so the investigators would check the claims of misuse or fraudulent claims of benefits.
