How many business days in a year?

I’m trying to plan annual targets and financial projections, and I need clarity on how many business days in a year are generally considered standard. Does it usually exclude federal holidays, or just weekends? I’d appreciate a simple breakdown.

To calculate business days in a year, you can use the following formula: 365 - ((days of the week in a month * months in a year) + holidays). For the US, assume 10 holidays. This gives you approximately 252 business days. However, if you're in a different country, you'll need to adjust the holidays and possibly the weekend days.

To calculate business days in a year, you can use the following formula: 365 (days in a year) - (days in holidays + weekend days). Assuming 52 weeks and 2 days off per week, there are 104 weekend days. Then subtract the holidays you are considering, which can vary depending on your country or region.

There are typically 260 business days in a standard year. This is calculated as 365 days minus 104 weekend days (52 weeks × 2 days). In a leap year, it can be 261 business days, depending on how the extra day falls. Public holidays may reduce the total.
