How to create a business bank account?

I’m starting a new company and want to know how to create a business bank account, including required documents, minimum balance, and timelines.

To create a business bank account, choose a bank, gather required documents (business registration, PAN/EIN, address proof, ID), and apply online or in-branch. Submit details, complete verification, and deposit the minimum balance to activate the account.

To open a business bank account, you need to select a bank and apply online or at a branch with your company registration documents, PAN, address/ID proof, and GST (where necessary), most banks require a small minimum balance and the account is typically available within 2-7 working days.

Use these procedures to open a business bank account:

  • Select a Bank: Compare digital tools, minimum balances, and fees.
  • Collect Documents: Your business license, Employer Identification Number (EIN) or PAN, and formation documents (such as Articles of Incorporation) are required.
  • Apply: Apply online or in person at a nearby branch.

To create a business bank account:

  • Choose a bank and account type
  • Register your business legally
  • Gather documents (ID, EIN, registration)
  • Apply online or visit a branch
  • Deposit initial funds and activate the account

To create a business bank account, choose a bank, gather required documents like business registration, ID, and tax details, then apply online or visit a branch. Approval usually follows verification.

For what it’s worth, most banks ask for the articles of organization/incorporation, EIN (Employer Identification Number), and your operating agreement if you have one.
Personally, I just walked into a branch, they reviewed the docs, signed a couple forms, and my account was live same day. That said, timelines vary some online banks can take 2 to 3 business days for verification.
