The Texas tax audit extension is generally provided to taxpayers in a disaster region declared by FEMA to conduct a tax audit regarding taxes. In case of state taxes, no general extension exists, Texas has a few due dates of various taxes and the extension of the franchise tax can be requested.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for filing income tax audit reports for the Financial Year 2024–25 (Assessment Year 2025–26) from September 30, 2025, to October 31, 2025.
The U.S does not have a single tax audit date, as there are in some other tax systems. The IRS has the option of auditing returns falling within the statute of limitation (typically 3 years following the filing of a return, occasionally 6 years in the case of large omissions).
