What does DOE mean for salary in job listings? I want to know how “Depending on Experience” affects pay negotiations and what candidates should expect.

DOE in salary terms means "Depends on Experience". It implies that the salary is not set, and your skills, experience level, and sometimes the interview performance will determine your pay.

DOE is an abbreviation of Depends on Experience. This shows that the pay is not a given amount; the employer then decides the amount of money that you will be paid at the end of the day depending on your qualification, the history of being in the line of work and the special skill, which the employer requires.

In salary listings, DOE means “Depends on Experience.”

So if a job says “Salary: $50 DOE” or “$50k DOE,” it means the exact pay isn’t fixed and will be based on your skills, years of experience, and qualifications. More experience usually means closer to (or above) the top of the range.
