Can someone explain what is a pink collar job exactly? I’ve heard the term used for certain professions, but I’m not sure what it really means. Which careers are considered pink-collar, and how do they differ from blue-collar or white-collar jobs? Would love a simple explanation!

A pink-collar job is work traditionally done by women in service or caregiving fields, such as nursing, teaching, or clerical work. The term arose in the 1970s to distinguish these roles from blue- and white-collar jobs, highlighting gendered labor divisions and the undervaluation of emotional and service-based work.

A pink-collar job is a job that is predominantly filled by women in the past and still today. The job of nursing, teaching, and administrative support are the examples of such jobs. The term, which was introduced in the 1970s, classifies these roles as "blue-collar" (manual labor) and "white-collar" (professional, office) jobs and often emphasizes positions that are characterized by the need for interpersonal, caregiving, or service-oriented skills.

A pink-collar job usually refers to professions that involve caregiving, service, or support roles traditionally held by women. Examples include nurses, teachers, secretaries, and customer service workers.
They differ from blue-collar jobs (manual labor like construction or manufacturing) and white-collar jobs (office or professional work like finance or management). Pink-collar roles often focus more on helping or serving others.
