What is enterprise software?

I often hear the term in business and tech discussions. What is enterprise software, and how is it different from regular software used by individuals or small businesses?

Enterprise software is basically large-scale software built for businesses or organizations rather than individual users. It helps manage core operations like accounting, HR, supply chain, or customer data in one system. Think of tools like ERP or CRM systems used by companies to keep everything organized and running efficiently; from what I’ve seen, they’re less about flashy features and more about handling complex workflows reliably across teams.

Enterprise software refers to computer software that is developed on a grand scale to serve the requirements of organizations as opposed to individual users. Such software helps facilitate organizational processes such as accounting, human resource management, customer relations management, logistics management, and database management, among others.
