What is tort law?

I’m trying to better understand tort law and how it works in real-life situations. From what I’ve read, tort law deals with civil wrongs where one person’s actions cause harm or loss to another, leading to legal liability.

However, I’m still a bit unclear about the different types of tort law, such as negligence, intentional torts, and strict liability. How do courts determine fault under tort law, and what kind of compensation can a victim receive?

Tort law is basically about situations where someone is harmed because of another person’s actions or negligence, and it gives the injured person the right to claim compensation; for example, things like accidents, defamation, or negligence cases usually fall under tort law, and it’s mainly focused on making up for the damage rather than punishing someone.

Tort law is a branch of civil law that deals with situations where one person’s actions cause harm or loss to another. It allows the injured party to seek compensation for damages like negligence, injury, or defamation.

Tort law refers to a sub-field of Law that concerns civil wrongs resulting in a person being harmed or losing. It gives the injured party an option of taking compensation against the person involved. The usual examples are negligence, defamation, and personal injury. Tort law is intended to seek redress to the victims and prevent vicious conduct by imposing legal responsibility on the actions of the individuals or organizations.

Tort law is a civil law that concerns cases when the actions of one person lead to the damage or loss of another person. It enables compensation to the injured party. Well-known examples are negligence cases, defamation cases, and personal injury cases. It would be aimed at alleviating pain and deterring bad conduct.

Tort law is a part of the law that helps people who have been hurt by someone. The main goal of tort law is to help the person who was hurt and to stop others from doing the thing. Tort law deals with things like when someone is careless when someone does something on purpose to hurt someone and when someone is responsible for something even if it was not their fault. Tort law does not try to punish people like law does. Instead tort law tries to make things right for the person who was hurt. It tries to put the person in the position they were in before they were hurt as much as it can. Tort law is really about helping the victim and making sure that the person who caused the harm takes responsibility, for what they did.
