Why Is Cryptocurrency Bad?

Why is cryptocurrency bad for everyday investors and the global economy? I want to understand the major risks, including volatility, lack of regulation, scams, and environmental concerns, that make many people skeptical about investing in cryptocurrency today.

One of the biggest problems is volatility. Everyday investors can’t realistically plan finances around assets that swing 20–30% in a week. Add minimal consumer protection, and a single mistake can wipe out savings with no recourse.

Cryptocurrency has been criticized due to its drastic effect on the environment (high-energy consumption and e-waste), unpredictability in the market, and regular application in frauds or unlawful practices. Absence of consumer protection is a threat.

Cryptocurrency is criticized for high volatility, lack of regulation, scams and fraud, environmental impact from mining, limited consumer protections, and use in illegal activities. Prices can fluctuate wildly, making it risky for investors and unstable for everyday payments.
