I’ve recently started a new job, and they mentioned that we’re on a bi-weekly payroll system. Can someone explain how bi-weekly payroll works? How many paychecks do employees typically receive in a year, and are there any pros or cons compared to monthly or weekly pay?

The employers compute the pay depending on the number of hours worked in the two-week pay period and then subtract the taxes and benefits and pay it out.
