I’ve recently started a new job, and they mentioned that we’re on a bi-weekly payroll system. Can someone explain how bi-weekly payroll works? How many paychecks do employees typically receive in a year, and are there any pros or cons compared to monthly or weekly pay?

With bi-weekly payroll, you get paid every two weeks, so 26 paychecks a year. Your paycheck is usually slightly smaller than a semi-monthly one, but it comes more often.

Bi-weekly payroll means employees are paid every two weeks, resulting in 26 paychecks per year instead of 12 or 24.

In bi-weekly payroll, employees are paid every two weeks and can expect to receive 26 paychecks each year. Each check represents 80 work hours for full-time employees, not including any deductions and taxes.

Bi weekly payroll implies that an employee receives payment after every two weeks which is typically on the same day of the week. This translates into 26 checks per year. Checks will be 80 working hours (in the case of full-time employees) and will have deductions such as taxes and benefits.

Employees on a bi-weekly payroll are paid every two weeks and should anticipate receiving 26 paychecks annually. Each check represents 80 labor hours for full-time employees, not counting any deductions and taxes.

Bi-weekly Payroll: this implies that employees receive compensation after every two weeks and is normally on the same day of the week. It translates to 26 bi-monthly salaries. The employers compute the pay depending on the number of hours worked in the two-week pay period and then subtract the taxes and benefits and pay it out.
