I’m researching religious history and comparative mythology. Where did the abrahamic myths come from, and how are they connected to earlier Middle Eastern traditions?

Abrahamic myths originate in the ancient Near East, especially among the early Hebrews in regions like Mesopotamia and Canaan. They developed through oral traditions, later written in texts like the Hebrew Bible. These stories were influenced by neighboring cultures, including Sumerian, Babylonian, and Egyptian beliefs.

The Abrahamic myths, including the stories of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, originated from ancient Mesopotamian and Middle Eastern cultures. These mythologies were influenced by the ancient Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians, and were later adopted and modified by the Israelites and early Christians.

Abrahamic myths, like many ancient religious stories, developed over time from earlier Middle Eastern traditions, especially from Mesopotamian, Canaanite, and Egyptian cultures; stories such as the flood narrative and creation accounts share similarities with older regional myths, and were gradually adapted, reshaped, and compiled into Jewish scriptures, which later influenced Christianity and Islam.
