I’m researching religious history and comparative mythology. Where did the abrahamic myths come from, and how are they connected to earlier Middle Eastern traditions?

They developed through oral traditions, later written in texts like the Hebrew Bible. These stories were influenced by neighboring cultures, including Sumerian, Babylonian, and Egyptian beliefs.

These mythologies were influenced by the ancient Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians, and were later adopted and modified by the Israelites and early Christians.
